General PR related question

Hello all,

I studied in the UK and graduated in november 2005. Started working under the work permit from december 2006 (valid till december 2011).
I changed my visa status to Tier 1 general in april 2010 and its valid till april 2013.
Can anyone please explain how the application to permanent residance status will result in my scenario. Thank you in advance.
