Post by smkamran » Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:53 pm

Hi My wife came to UK in Nov 2007 based on here father being UK citizen.

She got indefinite stay in jan 2010. Now its more than a year and i tried to apply via NCS and they told me she has to be in country for 5 year.

My understandiing was 12 month after indefinite stay.

Please advise

If you are not a British citizen and she is not applying for naturalisation as a spouse of a British citizen, then she will be eligible for naturalisation only as and when she meets the standard requirements (5 years legal stay being one of them).
