Visa Status

Post by skitis02 » Fri Feb 04, 2011 1:30 pm

Hi

My Wife's Visa status just changed to "Your Application is being sent to the application centre. Please wait until it is ready for collection".

I wish it is a positive result as its been only 9 weeks since she submitted her application. We did submitted all the original document and neither me (Sponsor) or my employer were contacted.

Cheers

Hi skitis02

Best of luck buddy, I think you will get the Visa. Looking through this forum I have found that the Immigration does not contact Sponsor ot the employer on every Visa application. I think it is most of the time a random call or if they have any issues with the legitimiacy of the documents provide.

In terms of the time, I have seen people getting their visa in 4 weeks as well in the past 3 months of applications. So from the time scale point of view it seems to be okay, on average I have seen them taking around 10 to 11 weeks. So you are not that far away either.

I hope you get the visa, best wishes.

Just to confirm that hubby got his visa today..... :)

Jattboi, I doubt you will have to wait for the full appeal process.

Your refusal points are not so serious and the decision will be overturned instead which happens around 2-3 months after submitting appeal.

Good luck with it.

Keep us updated.

Hi Fisher009,

Congrats on settlement visa for your son.
I am almost on the same board i just need to confirm if you have submitted SU07/01 form.
And also if you can let us know the documents you submitted that would be great, as there are very few success stories on child settlement visa.

Kind Regards
Sbn

I cant understand y is tribunal saying tht judge has nt made final decision. Judge gave immidiate decision and allowed the appeal on hearing. Can somebody help.

appeal allowed?

Post by Jattboi » Wed Mar 02, 2011 7:49 am

Ask your barrister to make inquiries he should sort out the problem. It takes six weeks for the appeal allowed to return to the embassy and then a further 2 weeks for u to provide your passport. I would wait a few more weeks and then make inquiries.

When did you lodge ur appeal how long has the process taken from the 1st date u applied?

they have 28 days to send out the determination letter to you after ur hearing. if you have not heard anything after 28 days you need to contact them.

does not normally take this long.

Hi Ejaz12,

my wife applied for her spouse settlement visa at VFS Mumbai(south) on 11th Feb 2011 and till date has recieved no acknowledgement letter. She receives (very little) updates via sms from VFS. Answer to your question, NO!! Also looking through the forum no other member has mentioned about recieving an acknowledgement letter.

Thanks for replying.... I just came to know that they don't send us acknowledgement latter as they have already mentioned acknowledgement details in my slip which is given by VFS Office. BTW what is Your current status of your application?

Please update here if you get any response from BHC.

Just checked and its same as yours; "Visa application is under process at the British High Commision"

Sure no probz, will update here if any change in status.
I personally feel that it in my case it will take a mininum of 60 office working days for it to be granted or refused as my wife has not travelled outside India before.

I would deem the case fairly straightforward, i have no immigration problems, no criminal record etc nor does my wife, she's university educated,,,, however thats just my view and the ECO's will not hesitate to reject it even if its 99.99% perfect!
I have had no interview nor my wife as yet. Spouse settlement visa case's are such now that they request all the required + any relevant documents & items in full so there is a less need for them call anyone for interview.

Wife obtained her UK Spouse Settlement Visa, thank god!!

she got sms update at 23:30, 19-04-2011 saying: application processed & ready for collection
(not sure why she got the sms at 23:30, but hey...)

Passport, visa & documents in wife's hand as of 20-04-2011.
(wife noticed on the visa that it was actually valid from 14-04-2011)

Application submitted (Vfs Mumbai South): 11-02-2011
Validated/valid from: 14-04-2011
Notification/update ready for collection: 19-04-2011

Wife was not called for interview. Me nor my family members who i live with were not contacted either. I doubt it that my now former employer were contacted too.
Wife was not asked to take any medical, India is not on the required list for persons applying to take compulsary medical but she had done one back in Nov 2010 at renowned Appolo Clinic and submitted it anyway. (It was cheap and chest x-ray shows free from TB)
Have been following migration for nearly 2 years (well before i met my wife!) and put alot of research before my wifes was submitted. Spent countless hours to make sure it was as strong as possible and 'bullet proof' from rejection! I would suggest to any future applicants to take as much time as needed in applying as ECO will go through each and every document with fine-toothed-comb. DO NOT RUSH applying........as the ECO's dont in granting! Whatever u choose to write or boxes to tick on the VAF4a form, try your best to back it up in evidence. e.g. Do you (applicant) have any criminal convictions? Wife managed to get from her nearest police station a letter stating that she has no criminal convictions or unspent jail time etc..

Please feel free to ask any future questions.
