No one's even talking about a 6 year ILR. If that is ever announced, you'll know well in advance and it will be vigorously debated before it becomes law.a12345 wrote:Hi,
i transferred my self to tier 1 visa after completing 1 year on WP in 2008. I was given initial 3 years tier 1 visa which will expire 2012, and while applying for extension it will be given until 2014. With the current rule extension will stretch my stay beyond one year my ILR eligibility BUT situation will be tricky if rules are changed to 6 years for ILR : (
I am wondering if I apply 2 months in advance of my visa expiry in 2012 then will I be able to to apply for ILR as they will stamp the visa for two years and I might fall short by a couple of months for ILR eligibility - please help me solve this riddle as if ILR eligibility is changed to 6 years then this could mean I will have to get the extension just to cover a couple of months shortfall!!!!
thanks.
