Date on Pay slip and date when actual work was carried out

Post by rohitsingh » Tue Mar 08, 2011 8:57 am

Hi,

Date on Pay slip and date when actual work was carried out

Suppose the date mentioned on pay slip is 25 May 2010, but the actual work was carried out during March and April 2010. It can happen in an hourly paid job as you may have submitted timesheet later on. The date on pay slip and date when money was transferred to Bank is May 2010. In this case can I claim it as salary for month of May 2010? Is that a wrong thing to do?

Thanks.

Nothing wrong. If I was you I would have treated it as salary for May, to keep things simple.
