Incountry Tier 1 Dependent Visa - Offshore bank account

Can anybody help me.

I am about apply for my dependent's Tier 1 visa separately within UK. As an main applicant i already have Tier 1 visa.

Question is :

Can we use any offshore account say (Indian rupee account) to show the maintenance fund of 2400 £.

OR - Maintenance funds always required in GBP ACCOUNT only.
