Help for friend. Forget to sign the cheque

Post by Harison » Fri Mar 18, 2011 2:44 am

I am asking question on behalf of my friend because he is not member of this forum.

He applied for PSW last Friday (11th march 2011). He applied with all document fulfilling the requirement but he forget to sign the cheque for his PSW application fee (which was £550) so now what can he do?

And what will happen? will he get rejected straight way? and will he have to go back to home country

or

will his application will be treated as invalid and will be given one more chance to apply within Uk? if yes then would he be able to apply under current rules or the rules which will be applicable after 1st april or 6th april?

please advice

Thanks for advice LuckyLondon

ok. He already when to bank for this matter and bank said they can't do anything in this matter now. he try to call homeoffice but no one is giving proper answer to him.

Sorry I am not getting your last point "if not thn had chance to apply again...valid under 28 days"?

Does HO give another chance to apply within uk? or NOT?

send a "change of circumstances" form straight away.. include proper signed check.

if your application is already been returned (and in the post) then this new form will have no effect.

you can apply again whenever you like afterwards, within 28 days, but you will be termed overstayer from the day you get your application back. and if HO declines your app, then you will NOT be given right to appeal as you are overstayer.

The date you amke a NEW application is the important date and will determine which set of rules apply i.e. old or new!

Thank you arsenal49...for advice.

He haven't receive any reference number yet so how can he apply for change of circumstances?

Do you have any idea how many days HO takes to send application back? He have applied on 11th March last friday.

Does they check the document (like bank statement, degree letter etc.) or application even though he didn't pay the application fee? To just check is the person just forget to sign the cheque or something else is also missing or not fulfilling the requirement?

some people in the past never recceived that document so rather than pinning your hopes on that document. do SOMETHING right now. noone knows for sure when HO exactly will be processing your app.

you don't need ref number for CoC form. just your name, nationality, passport number, date of birth will suffice. mention that you dont have ref number in your app too
