Biometric for switching to Tier 1

Post by apriltier1 » Mon Mar 21, 2011 3:24 pm

Hi ,
I just got to the UK in the month of March
and had earlier booked a personal appointment to submit documents for Tier 1 . Its on march 30th.

Would I need a bio-metric appointment as well / would that be a part of this appointment or is it needed only for applicatants trying to extend their Tier 1 VISA.

You will enroll your biometrics (at the PEO) on the day of your PEO appointment.

ok.. so your saying its needed.
How does it work for applicants applying by post,..

would they be later given dates for biometrics to be done?
I though biometrics is needed only for VISA extensions.. can you correct me if I am wrong?

When applying for leave to remain (switching or extending), one needs to submit biometrics.

When applying by post, UKBA sends a letter after the application is submitted, advising applicant(s) to submit biometrics.
