Tier 1 Dependent :£800 OR £2800 for the main applicant ???

hi all..

as per my understanding if the main applicant already has a tier1 visa and is in UK for less than 12 months then the main applicant is supposed to show funds of £800 for his support and £1600 for each of his dependants.

Recently i have seen a few posts in the forum which suggest that the UKBA is expecting £2800 as the maintenance funds for main applicants if thhey are outside UK or in UK for less than 12 months..

Can someone throw some light on this issue and i am plannin to apply for dependent visa soon !!!

My solocitor informed me its much safer to show £2,800 irrespective of how long youve been in the UK. I got my wife's visa with in a month. Applied from Pakistan
