EEA2 Processing Times; 2011

Hello,

Have any EEA2 Applicants had their EEA Spouse's passport returned without anything else being returned? I'm trying to work out how close my application is to being processed.

***** Here is my timeline so far *****

07/12/2010: Sent EEA2 application with passports, etc.

08/12/2010: Royal Mail confirmed delivery to Home Office.

31/12/2010: I called Home Office to check they'd received application. They said the envelope had been opened the day before, deemed a "valid application" and passed on for processing.

14/01/2011: I received CoA (dated 07/01/11) stating I could continue working for up to 6 months while application is processed.

23/03/2011: Home Office returned my EEA Spouse's Passport using one of the prepaid self-addressed envelopes we supplied with the application.

24/03/2011: I called Home Office to ask why EEA Spouse's Passport had been returned and how much longer my application might take however they refused to even check unless over 6 months since application.

... so when do you think I might receive my EEA2 Resident Card?

Hi same is the case with me.

sent application 22-Dec-11
Received COA in Jan
Received wife's EEA1 around 2nd week march
Phoned them the day i received her EEA1 and they say my EEA2 application is under consideration and i should receive my passport back soon.
phoned them yesterday and now they say are not even checking the status and say they cant check untill the application is 6 months old.
Ans yes when i called them the first time, they said its normal to get EEA1 earlier than EEA2.

well i misunderstood your case a little, but well with my wife's EEA1 card, they sent her EU ID card back as well. if that helps

hi there, i have quite similar case as well but i have sent the application for EEA2 in January only. We would like to tavel in May (less then 6 month), but so far there is no information about the Card, only the certificate of application.
Does anyone know how long does it usually take to get it?

Thanks for your help, but the link above refers to a case which is now over 13 months old and doesn't really give a good indication of current t processing times as at March / April 2011.

Dear all, I've now finally received my passport back with my Resident Card enclosed.

Here is my final timeline showing processing time between December 2010 and March / April 2011:

07/12/2010: Sent EEA2 application with passports, etc.Â

08/12/2010: Royal Mail confirmed delivery to Home Office.Â

31/12/2010: I called Home Office to check they'd received application. They said the envelope had been opened the day before, deemed a "valid application" and passed on for processing.Â

14/01/2011: I received CoA (dated 07/01/11) stating I could continue working for up to 6 months while application is processed.Â

07/03/2911: **Home Office issued my Residence Card, however further processing continued**

23/03/2011: Home Office returned my EEA Spouse's Passport using one of the prepaid self-addressed envelopes we supplied with the application.Â

24/03/2011: I called Home Office to ask why EEA Spouse's Passport had been returned and how much longer my application might take however they refused to even check unless over 6 months since application.Â

25/03/2011: Home Office posted my passport with new Residence Card and my other original documents submitted with application (eg. Marriage certificate) by registered post.

26/03/2011: I received the package.

Total time =Â 109 days
(or 15 weeks & 4 days)
(or just over 3.5 months)

I don't think there's much you can do to reduce the waiting time; however if you make 100% sure that your application is correct and fully completed, with all relevant documents included and dates clearly marked with a highlighter, etc. then they will at least be able to process it quickly when they get to it.

Incomplete or incorrect applications will be rejected very early on. As most time is spent for the application waiting to be assigned to a caseworker any "optimisation" by the applicant will only marginally effect individual processing times. Well organised application though would help the EEA team to streamline the process to some degree. This would also include to send off only relevant documents. Unfortunately, some appear to go by the rule the-more-the-better, either because of not understanding the process or simply of fear of being rejected. In sum, there is nothing really that an applicant can do to speed up the process.

Has anyone recieve the COA this year, apply for Residence Card in Feburay uptil now no COA from HO. How long will it take to get it.

hi pple am a big fan of this site and very gud for advices.. i applied for RC last year and was refused later this year april 2011.. reason- the caseworker says my eu-partner id card not valid to meet up the requirement. and it says further in the letter i can make another application if i feel am entitled as a family member of an eu-nationals. so i now re-applied immidediatley april 2011 , and now included my eu-partner valid passport with all other current docs, payslips, 3yrs joint tenancy agreement, joint council tax bills , joint electricity bills , water bills and other relevent docs of me and my eu-partner.
but the home office didnt return my passport in the 1st application as my old work permit has expired during the application. i indicated in the new application my old ukba ref number and stated they got my valid passport with them.
plz, i just wanna know frm the kind pple here, if i have done the right thing by re-applying again immidiately? and if anyone knows how long it take ukba to issue COA as for 2011 and RC.? thanks.

i m here just to let you know guys dont think you get refusal because your EEA family member ID card is not valid enough but it might because your EEA Family member ID is expired thats why they need up to date passport or ID card plus make sure give durable relationship proof coz everything comes after but they check relationship first especially in partners.
As its clearly written in form that your EEA family member passport or ID card fair enough but yes if you send expired one or it is near to expire then they might can have doubt of EEA nationality forged...thats why asked up to date passport

i m still waiting but have seen a lot of posts indicating most of people getting in 3 months i ve applied up to 2 months

small pie i got my COA wid in 3 weeks time we i applied

i had send my application on 15 of march this year i had 5 years residency before and that card is still valid till end of this month too but let see how luck works because i m dependent on my father and living in UK for exactly 6 years now.
