Extension doubts

Post by lbfrancois » Sun Jun 25, 2006 11:55 am

Hello!

I have a few doubts regarding HSMP Extension:

1. My entry clearance is dated Feb 20, 2006 and my HSMP letter is dated Nov 29, 2005. When should I apply for extension? 2 months before my Entry Clearance expires or before my HSMP letter expires?

2. Should I also send my original HSMP letter when I apply for extension?

3. I read that you can only apply for Leave to Remain after living in UK for 5 years. After my extension, I will only have a 4 year total, what should I do then? Apply for another extension?

Thanks,
L.

Hi

Apply before your HSMP expires
Original HSMP letter or photocopy does not makes much difference, but y not send the original and keep a photocopy

1. apply one to two months before the EC expires (so after dec. 2006)
2. you don't need to send the HSMP letter
3. if this is your first HSMP extension, you'll get another four years LIMITED leave to remain after a successful application (so until feb 2011). after you complete five years in the UK, you can apply for INDEFINITE leave to remain.
