Switching from Tier-1 to Tier-2 while in the UK

Hi All,

This is a hypothetical situation due to ever changing UKBA rules. Currently I am on Tieri-1 but for my extension if I am not eligible let'say becaue of my salary (took a salary cut), in such a case if my employer has to move me to Tier-2, will it be considered as Tier-2 ICT or Tier-2 General?

If it is Tier-2 General, I believe it is also going to be discontinued. In such a case will I have to leave UK !

tier 2 (general) is not being discontinued but a cap is being introduced
