Tier 1 Additional documents

Post by ali110 » Mon Mar 28, 2011 2:50 pm

I have been a long time lurker of this site and I appreciate the work you guys are doing.

I recently applied (16.03.2011) for Tier 1 General visa. At the time of application, I sent an IELTS certificate dated 09.03.2009. I just came to know from a friend of mine that my certificate had a validity period of 2 years.

I also have a Bachelor degree which was taught in English from a recongnised UK university but I did not mentioned this in my application to claim the points for English Language requirement.

Can someone let me know what my options are at this point?

Shall I send a 'Change of circumstances' form and the degree certificate with a covering letter explaining the situation?

Shall I wait for the refusal (or a miracle)?

I have also read that in case of refusal I would not be able to claim points on the basis of my degree because it will be considered as new evidence? Is this true?

I am applying in country (switching from tier 2)

Please help a fellow immigrant

Currently, there is no requirement for an English language test result to be within its "validity" period.

Such a requirement will be only be introduced from 06-Apr-11. See point 7.30 of this UKBA document.

First of all, thank you very much for your quick reply. I cannot thank you enough for that.

To be clear, I should be awarded the English Language points by UKBA even if my IELTS Certificate had expired at the time when I made the Tier 1 application?

Thanking you in aticipation.

@ SushdMehta

Sir, Sorry to be a pain in the neck but can you please elaborate on your answer.

I know I'm being stupid but it's because I'm desperate.
