current and saving account

Post by indian234 » Mon Mar 28, 2011 10:40 pm

Hi,

I am going to apply tier 1 dependent visa for my wife in may.

I am planning to show maintenance funds from my HSBC UK savings account. Is that alright or should i show from my current account only?

Since savings account is not a fixed deposit and as you know, the money will be always available to use, i thought it should be fine.

Can some senior members confirm this please?

regards,

You are free to use either account, as long as you have access to the funds at anytime.

If you will use your savings account, it would be safer to get a letter from the bank confirming instant accessibility. I know of cases where savings account were not acepted and thge applicant had to appeal. Therefore, it will be better if you get aletter and attach it with the statements.
