Self Employed

Post by DARAY » Fri Apr 01, 2011 12:11 pm

Hi Guys,
I due for renewal of my 1st tier in July. I have a salary employment and also am self employed. At the moment I am only working for a company as self employed. A friend told me I will not be regarded as self employed because i am only working for a company. My question is do I have to work for more than a company before I am regarded as self employed.

my question to you is
1.are you registered for self employment?
2.does the company you work pay into your business account ?

I had a similar question,

My current situation -
I am registered as self employed.
But receive a salary from a company that I work for
They pay me in my personal account.
I pay my own taxes and NI

My questions is

1)Is it my gross or net income after taxes, that I'm given points on?
2)Am I considered to be a contractor, since I'm neither an employee nor do I have my own business?
3) Would, communication from the HMRC, my personal bank statements and a letter from an accountant be sufficient documentary evidence to prove my earnings?

Would appreciate any help,

Thanks

If you are not an employee, how can you receive a "salary"?
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
