Code of Practice

Post by SomedaySoon » Tue Apr 05, 2011 9:28 pm

Hi everyone, just a quick question as im very confused by the code of practice and shortage occupation.

Basically, I am a PSW holder, earning over 30k, I have worked there over 6 months, my job is a graduate position, my employer is a grade A sponsor. BUT my job title is not on the code of practice, and it is not a shortage occupation.

Will that stop me from getting a COS because my job is not on the code of practice?

please advise, cheers.

if your job is not on code of practice, then you must choose the one which is closest to your current job spec.

if you 'invent' job title, your app wont be successfull.

If a employer wishes to sponsor a non-EEA migrant, then the employer must apply for sponsorship licence. Once registered, the employer will then be able to request for and assign CoS to existing / new employees.

An applicant intending to apply for leave to enter / remain as a Tier 2 migrant must have a CoS assigned to him/her and must meet the requirements in force at the time of such application.

Nothing will stop you from getting COS if your company is on the sponsor register (unless their license is revoked)

Choose the title closest to the job!!
