Yes you application will be considered on Old rules.
21st April 11 : Does not change significant, you can still bring in dependants.

Yes you can bring your dependents on ACCA.
Possibly Not
The rules are going to change in July 2011 and tier 4 general students will only be able to bring their dependents if they are studying a postgraduate course of at least 12 months with a higher education institution.
Until we know exactly how the rules are going to be worded it is not possible to say whether or not the OP will be able to bring his dependent.

Dont you think if he extend his visa under current rules in June, then the new rules will not apply to him until he extend it further when new rules will be in place ? so when he ll apply for his dependents, it ll be treated under current rules ? I may be wrong and your expert opinion will clarify the situation.

The only thing cud jeopodise ur chance to bring ur spouse here is do the english test for nqf 6 course, which b4 u didnt have to do. and also if u get less than 12 months. N also ACCA F1-9 IS Nqf 6, n the rest nqf 7 (post graduate)...but if u pay all papers together its considered nqf 7 ( acca affiliate)..anyway hope it all helps to those who is doing acca...

Please don't overlook one thing.. even though ACCA professional part is NQF 7 equivalent course but you have to be enrolled with a Higher education institution to be eligible to bring dependants. I think by higher education institution, UKBA try to mean Universities not private colleges (FE colleges).

I totally agree with u. But if u r under old rules, does uni get to do anything with it? Cos from july 2011 no1 is allowed to bring dependent, except uni and public school students. If it happens i cant, then what do u suggest? Extend visa in May and then marry as well and then apply b4 july????? But so far no1 knows if the Certificate of approval been scrapped or not..

Uni postgraduate students and any govt. sponsored students.
Are we missing one point ? "From summer 2011 students applying for their
initial grant of leave as a student" does it means only students who will get their entry clearance after July 2011 but not students who extend their leave.
