Switching ICT to Tier2 General ?

Hi,

I am aware that switching from ICT to Tier 2 General visa has been removed effective 06th April, 2011. But, I am very much doubtful if it holds true for ICT visas issued before 6th Apr, 11. Please confirm asap.

It appears that people currently on Tier 2 ICT cannot switch in the UK. See page 18 of the new rules here:

The applicant could still leave the UK and apply for entry clearance.

But, the changes don't specify clearly if these apply to the ICTs issues pre 06 Apr, 11.

There is no mention of an exception made for people with Tier 2 ICT granted before April 6th 2011, nor in the statement of changes to the immigration rules that I posted above.

The guidance also doesn't list Tier 2 ICT as a category you can switch from to Tier 2 General.

Hi Moderators,

Many thanks for your responses. Although, I had a look in all the links you have posted but was still doubtful. I am assured now that even though my ICT was issued prior to 06th Apr, 11; I won't be able to switch to Tier 2 General.
