Applying for a visitor visa as a student

Post by conelize » Wed Apr 13, 2011 6:55 pm

My partner has previously been in the UK for 2 and a half years on a student visa. However several months ago due to a family emergency she had to leave the UK and go back to her own country and took a leave of absence from her studies. Her university have contacted her and told her that she will no longer be able to enter the UK on her student visa untill January when she will resume her studies.

As she is desperate to get back to the UK and be with me we thought that perhaps it would be possible for her to apply for a 6 month visitor visa which will last untill January when her student visa kicks back in. Is this possible? Would it affect the validity of her student visa in anyway?

On a side note, she is from the Middle East but wishes to apply for her visitor visa in Paris. Would there be any problem in doing this?
