Uk Assylum Familly Reunion or any option out ther??

Hi

My cousin South african came to Uk 2001 with Working holiday visa for 2 years and after 2 years applied student visa for 1 year after it expired and stayed in uk illegal till now.She has a partner whom they've been together since 2002and has been granted Uk Assylum status 2008 and when he submitted his application he mention his ex-girlfriend whom they have 2 kids and were traditionally married but no marriage certificate,whom they are no longer together now.So they want to find out if he can apply for family reunion or is ther is any other option they can sort out her status and bring his 2 kids to uk as they stay with his sister.Please help
