Hello Everyone,

I currently have a Tier 2 work permit with Job title : Graduate Developer.

My Visa expires Dec 2011.

I need to Know if I can apply for a extension visa with the same Job title.

Thank you

Reading the policy guidance should help understand the eligibility criteria for extension.

HI sushdmehta,

I have Gone thru the website provided on the Tier 2 general Visa.

I have come across this rule, where its states that I have be on graduate level to be able to extend my visa.

Website states:
"In all other circumstances when you are applying to extend your leave under Tier 2 74. (General) your job must be at graduate level."

My job title is a Graduate developer.
**********************************************************

As far as I have Gained, I can extend my visa, if I keep the same job title, when applying for Certificate of Sponsorship.

Please correct me If I am wrong.

Thank you
Bharat

ummm, so what made you suspicious about your job title in the first place?

if you are a graduate , working on a graduate job, then whats the issue here?????

Hi Arsenal49,

I was a bit concerned about the fact that, You are considered a graduate when you join a company, but as you complete 3 years in the company, you are considered a senior, no longer a graduate.

This put me in a delima, whether keeping the same title, (Graduate Developer) would affect my application for Tier 2 Visa extension.

I thought maybe some one who has applied for a Tier2 visa extension , with the title of a Graduate developer, could may be explain about the procedure for extension.

Thanks
Bharat

look at the problem in this way....

its your employer's duty to assign you a suitable job title from code of practice...

lets say, your employer looked at the the CoP and found that the job title ' graduate developer' corresponds most closely to your job duties. So, the fact that it has 'graduate' in title doesn't mean that you need to be awarded degree in last month or so! its irrelevant when your degree was awarded to you , for this purpose.

Atleast thats my take on the issue.
