Please help,Schengen visa needed....

Post by helloimran » Sun Apr 17, 2011 12:59 am

Dear Respected Members,
Currently i am living in UK.I got ILR(indefinite leave to remain) recently and working full time.
I want to apply for Schengen visa along with my wife and 2 years old daughter.

My travelling plan is following.

Travel from London to Paris by train and stay in Paris 2 days.
From Paris to Frankfurt by train and stay in Frankfurt for 3 days.
From Frankfurt to Zurich by train and stay in Zurich for 4 days.
Finally come back to London from Zurich by train via Paris.

My travelling dates are 20/06/2011 to 30/06/2011.
I have following questions:-

1:- Which Schengen's country should i apply visit visa?
2:- Will i be able to get visa before my travelling dates if i apply beginning of May?
3:- What is the process to apply and document requirements?
Waiting for your kindly replies?
Thanks.
IMRAN...

1. France.
2. Depends on when you get the appointment to apply.
3. Click the links given above.

1. To the country where you stay longest (or the first if that cannot be determined).

Oops! When posting the above I was perhaps adrift down memory lane to the time when Switzerland wasn't a member of Schengen countries and ILR holders did not require a Swiss visa!
Apologies!

Switzerland visa.

As 86ti has already explained above, a Schengen Visa is applied for at the Embassy or Consulate of the Schengen country which you will be spending the most nights on your trip to the Schengen Space.

From the list above, it seems you'll be staying the longest in Zurich.

Since this is 10 days, and the stays are sort-of equally distributed, you can practically decide where to apply... I´d just go to the embassy which is most convenient for you, and twist the story a little bit to match the criteria.

Happy travels!

Hi Sush,

If you can reply, does a Tier1 General Visa Holder require a Swiss Visa?

Many thanks

Your status in the UK is not relevent. If someone holding your nationality requires a visa to travel to a country, then you need to apply for it.
