Ristricted COS - April issue

Post by jpizzle » Sun Apr 10, 2011 8:59 pm

Do we know when the UKBA will be allocating restricted COS for April? Have any COS already been allocated?

Also, whether any have been allocated yet or not, it would be interesteing to get some sort of indication on how many requests for COS are missing out and to what level i.e. the demand being greater than supply.

Please can anyone report whether their potential Sponsor has been issued or declined a unrestricted COS for this month (April), along with the salalry band plus any other relevant information. Thanks

with 5400 cos available, I wonder if anyone would be missing out this month? Anyone with news or indication of when employers will be notified of success or rejection?

Hello everyone!

I actually have good news so hope that means there are many other who have heard good news too. We have been trying for so many months and its only finally come through.

I am not on the shortage occupation list and my salary is only 25k +.

Really hope everyone waiting has heard similar good news!

Hi and I'm glad for you. Can you confirm that yours is an out of country application and the issue was from out of the April application? Thanks

Hi again,

yes its out of country, but we started applying even when I was working with the company last year. My visa (PSW) ran out at the end of Nov and had to return home.

As I had not been with the company for 5 months yet, we had to do a RLMT.

Yes the COS was given for April, I found out on April 14th.

Good luck!

Hi can you confirmed you have received the CoS number? As my company had received an email from UKBA saying our application meets the minimum points score for the allocation of a restricted CoS. Subject to further checking, Tier 2 (General) allocation will be updated on our Sponsorship Management System (SMS) account within the next 5 working days. We received that email on 12th April, but haven't heard anything from the UKBA since then.

I wonder how much of the 5400 cap got used for this month? Does anyone know if and where this information might be relaeased?
Has anyone yet missed out on a COS allocation for April when they have met all of the criteria? (i.e. COS exhausted for month)

Should be 4500 cap. We still haven't received any feedback from UKBA since the last email, it has been more than 5 working days now...

Anymore good news from anyone? Please update.

It's 4200. See http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary page 6
The UK Border Agency’s experience is that while
different sectors see some seasonality of demand
for CoS this tends to balance out. We will front
load the first month, making 4,200 places available.

Thanks for the link with number of CoS allocated, really helpful.

Any one know what's with the 32 point cut-off? I thought you would need at least 70 to qualify?

Cheers

Apparently the 32 points are the sponsor's score for the job:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

Page 40 has the relevant table with point calculation.

So in April you needed resident labour test and at least £20k to get a restricted CoS.

Max possible is 175 for PhD and high salary shortage occupation.
