Dependent Visa Application - Please help

Post by whybi » Sun May 08, 2011 7:30 am

Hi

I'm filling out the dependent (Tier 1 General) visa application form online for my wife, and am little confused on the Section 5, Immigration History.

What's the difference between the application to the Home Office to remain in UK and being granted a UK Visa?

My wife has had previously studied in UK for about 8 years, therefore, was granted a Student visa (1 year initially) and extended her visa several times to continue her study in UK. Is the Student visa extension 'leave to remain in UK'? or UK visa granted?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Leave to remain is applied for from inside the UK.

A UK visa/entry clearances applied for from outside the UK.

Does you wife still have leave as a student in the UK? Is she applying from inside or outside?
