IT job skills suggestions

Post by bkhan » Sun Mar 21, 2004 6:30 pm

What are the hottest skills in the UK IT market these days?

I have several years of experience in UNIX sys admin and feel that its time to update.

I am open to anything new.

Besides, I am 35. Is it a bit late for the UK job market?

Hello bkhan,

I would suggest that you visit www.cwjobs.co.uk and look for salary and demand statistics they have. I think they are very useful.

I hope this won't be treated as advertisement. At least I do not have any relation to the site mentioned.

Hey, I'm 37 and I'M not too old to work in the UK! :P

Much of anyone's employability depends entirely on thier skill set. I've been in contact with Reed and they seem to feel that as a Senior Cisco Engineer, I have a pretty good shot at either contracts (which I prefer) or a perm position.

Keep looking, keep trying. The worst anyone can say is, "No"

Best of Luck
