my baby born while I was on HSMP and I am eligible for ILR in October 2011.Hope2007 wrote:If baby was born in the UK to a british citizens/settled person, then baby is automatically a British citizen. A British citizen may apply for a British passport.
if someone was on wp while the baby was born ...once they get ILR they need to register the baby as "British Citizen" using MN1
Thank you for your reply BSK.BSK wrote:Hi KCK9,
You have to go through the following steps
1. Apply for MN1 for getting British registration certificate (roughly a month)
2. Apply for passport (1 week premium application)
3. Obtain a surrender certificate (if your daughter has an Indian passport) by giving up Indian nationality
4. Apply for PEO or getting a Indian Visa to go to India.
I am not sure about the timeline for the steps 3 through 4.
