Tier 2 Dependant Visa Refusal

Post by nawaz » Wed May 11, 2011 3:07 pm

Hello everyone,

I really need some help. I had applied for my wife's Tier 2 Dependant visa. As part of the application I had submitted a bank statement with sufficient funds from a UK bank. The statements were printed by the bank branch and contained,

1) Bank Name
2) Colored bank logo
3) My name
4) Account number
5) Date of printing
6) Start and end date of statement (which was six months)

However, the application has been refused and the refusal states that the EC is not satisfied with the funds requirement because the statements are electronic statements and therefore should carry a stamp on each page of the statement.

However, the PBS dependants policy guidance document states that statements printed on bank letter are acceptable if they contain the above mentioned details.

My question is, is the EC right in rejecting these statements?

Statement on "bank's letter headed paper" are different from statements on "plain paper showing bank name and logo".

The former are accepted without signature stamp, but not the latter.

What is the difference between the two?
