Delay in Tier 2 dependent visa

Post by shirish.wagh » Wed Apr 20, 2011 9:00 pm

I recently moved from USA to UK on Tier 2 ICT visa. My UK visa processing was done from USA and it took me 10 days to get my work permit.

At that time my wife was in India for personal visit. After my work permit came we have applied for her dependent visa from India. Now its been one whole month that her visa has applied and we have not heard back anything from British embassy. Her visa status from last one month says "Under processing at British high commission".

Can someone please help me to find out the possible reason behind this delay? Normally the dependent visa gets done within 2 - 3 weeks of time.

Is this delay happening because of new regulations introduced from 6 April?

Is there any way to find out why her visa is getting delayed? We tried calling British embassy but they gave back standard answers.

Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

You will probably hear from them soon, for Mumbai(south).
89% applications are processed within 10 working days
95% in 15 working days
100% 30 working days

so you still have that time :)

isha123 wrote:Hi All,

This might have been discussed before but I could not find a related post so asking again. My tier 1 extension is due in Dec 2011. How many months before i need to apply for extension if I am applying by post. Is there any benefit of applying in person as far as time scales are concerned. Plz advise.

Many thanks
If you are a Tier 1 (General) migrant, why / how has your child applied for entry clearance as dependant of Tier 2 migrant?

Thanks Isha...

It would be great if you could elaborate a detailed list of documents my wife and son needs to attach for their visa... and do i need to provide any undertaking of acceptance when they are applying from India without me accompanying them.

Once again thanking you

Nope still waiting..I called them up and they say that they follow a strict date sequence so I should wait..not sure which dates applications they are processing. My friends parents who applied a visitor visa on 18th april have already got their visa on May 2..so I am not sure what are they doing with tier 2 applications
