T4 switch to Spouse and stay in UK

My friend is over here on a T4 student visa valid until July 2011.
she wants to marry to her partner (EU Polish).
Now with the end of COA can she just go ahead and marry in the UK then apply for a spouse visa? is there enough time to do this and remain in the UK as the t4 visa finishes soon (2 Months)
any advise most appreciated as time is running short
