Does a Penalty Charge Notice belong to Traffic Offence?

Post by leon_sam » Thu May 19, 2011 6:07 pm

Hi:

I am going to extend my Tier 1 general visa.

Just confused about the traffic offence record. I received a bus lane Penalty Charge Notice(PCN) from council and pay it on time.

I check the google said PCN does not result in a criminal record or points on a driving licence. They are separate from Fixed Penalty Notices, issued for criminal offences by the Police and Traffic Wardens. I also double check with DVLA about the point. They said I have no fine point so far.

Does that means I don't need to write this on the application form?

Thank you

As far as im aware, it is not a traffic offence (as the car is stationary when served with notice)

Also did you know that these PCNs arent worth the paper they are written on and a simple template letter filled in and sent to them will render it worthless and result in you not having to pay it?

Heres the details

I would say No for the reasons given by you in the first post, but then again there is no harm if you did mention it, because in my opinion it wont have any detrimental affect on your application
