Tier (1) Extension & ILR

Post by glasgow15 » Tue May 24, 2011 3:21 pm

Hi to all,

I found this forum be very helpful while making initial T(1) G application and now one of my friend is due for extension of his T(1) G soon. The question he would like to ask that

when he applied for initial application he sent the numbers of total tax payable from his self-employment business and a letter from an accountant explaining the same. The UKBA staff did not return any of his cover letter, accountant letter or any additional information to support his application i.e. cover letter, etc.

Now can someone (perhaps some1 who got extenion or ILR) advise that whether UKBA would require evidence from HMRC if he has paid the SAME amount in form of income tax which he was liable to pay on his income he initially claimed for T(1) initial application OR rather he needs to send evidence from the last 12 months that if any income tax/NI paid. AND how this can affect on his ILR application...Do UKBA need evidence of any tax/NI paid for the total period a persont spent in T1 G category or since the he entered in UK.

Looking for answers from seniors plz

he paid as were in his accountant letter or income statement he initially claimed

Only income from the 12 months before application date should be considered. All other income (and tax / NI etc) is irrelevant both for extension and ILR.

The UKBA usually keep any documents specifically addressed to them or specifically drawn up for the the support of an application (generic stuff like bank statements, payslips and passport will be returned though).

Is it not 12 consecutive months within the 15 months before application date...
Keep it simple!

But i have seen someone on this forum when he went for his ILR, the case worker asked for evidence of his total tax/NI contribution of over 4-5 years and his economical contribution into UK....?
