Need Help About Language Requirement

Hi All

I have booked a ket (key english test) exam for 3rd of June.

On Cambridge website it says;

Results Verification Service

If you need to allow employers, universities or other organisations to verify your examination results, just send them your Candidate ID and Candidate Secret Number (printed on your Statement of Entry) and they can check your result quickly and securely online at

I asked that to teacher who looks after the test today, if i could send my Candidate and Secret Number to Home Office, she said yes but on FLR (M) visa form there is no information like that.

Did anyone do that before or do you know if i can do that? what i was thinking is write a wee note which gives my candidate and secret number?

please help me out on this problem.

this means i cant send my candidate and secret number? do i have to wait till i get my results?

Pisko, I've recently heard of a case where IELTS cert of 4 years was accepted as there was evidence of continuing study of English.

what was the case? i have passed ielts exam feb 07 which is 4 years 3 months now i think they wont accept it anymore.

i have got confirmation email from cambridge today.

on confirmation email there are 2 pdf files. one of them is confirmation of entry, which has all my details and where the exam will take place. it also says,

Your results will be available on 14 July 2011 at 10:00(UK time) .
To access your results you can register now at
https://cambridgeesol-results.org/ with the following information:

my id number and scret number is given

You can pass these details on to organisations who wish to verify
your result at http://verification.cambridgeesolonline.org

can i print this paper and send it to home office?

I think you should print and send that together with your old IELTS cert.
The case I mentioned was from recent experience of application submitted by an legal rep for his client.

I see but as i mentioned they cant check my result until 14th of july but i will still send it as you say. donna wanna wait 7 weeks then send it.

I think you may get through with the old IELTS cert as you can show that your use of English has been continued since then...which appears to be a key point in the validity of IELTS which is older than 2 years.

so everyone can send their id and secret number to home office. you dont need to wait 6 weeks to find out your results.

I think you may find that you should submit the certificate - do not expect Home Office staff to check for you it is your responsibility to show you have past not that you have sat the exam.

Cambridge staff will not be assessing your immigration application, UKBA staff will be.

So follow what the UKBA policy guidance states, not what any test provider staff tells you.

i will send my IELTS certificate which is passed in 2007 + my HND certificate + Confirmation of Entry for KET

when i asked them first time on the phone they said they started providing id and secret number for organizations such as Home Office.

Also i have seen at another forum IELTS doesnt have validy for spouse visa a guy was succesful on one of his client.

My response was related to the advice given to you by test provider staff that UKBA can check your result if they wish to and that your application may be granted on that basis (that a caseworker views your results online and approves your application).

My response was not regarding IELTS score validity or any other qualification(s).
