The payment processing is slow but the actual decision process is quick. Hopefully you (and me) should get the passport back by end of July :o

Till what date is the extension granted. Does it add up to 5 years?

I am now anxiously waiting for my documents.

Post by vijuvasishta » Mon Jul 24, 2006 9:19 am

hello everybody,

whoever has applied for extension no need to be anxious, i got my extension for a further 4 yrs, adding upto 5 yrs in total, so all those eaiting for their extension will be given 4 yrs extension, i submitted my application on 2nd and received everything back with passports on 21st, so it takes roughly 3 weeks from the date of submission.

I'd sent my application for extension on the 3rd of July, reached FLR, Durham on 6th July. I forgot to attach photographs with the application, so when I received the Payment reference no, posted the photographs on the 17th, received by FLR, Sheffield on 18th. When I called up today, to have an update about my status, they say they cant locate my status on their system(no entry). Problem?

hello thomas,

dont worry, after the money has been taken out of ur account, they can tell ur status after a week, even i did call up a couple of days after my money was taken out and they told me that they could not locate my application on the system , the best i can suggest u is to call them and give them the reference number quoted on the payment confirmation letter u have received, try it and let me know.

I've already called them and asked, but they have no record on the system. Called them today as well, response is the same, have asked me to call by the end of the week.

Hi all,

So for extension, what is the criteria? It just says you should be earning and pay your taxes but how much and on what position, its not mentioned. Is it necessary to continue working in your field of graduate degree? I reckon not. (??) Also, is their any minimum salary under which extension might be difficult?

It would be really helpful to get insight from you guys, who have already filed for extension or have got it approved.

Thanks.

you should be economically active at the time of application. your earnings/position doesnt make a difference. i have seen guys working in tesco.. got extensions.. i guess main criteria is are you contributing to UK economy by taxes..
