Will my home get repossessed if my visa not getting renewed

Will my home get repossessed if my visa not getting renewed

Post by tier1general2009 » Thu Jun 02, 2011 3:15 pm

hi,

I am thinking of buying a home in uk. I had a mortagage advise from a broker who says that my house will get repossessed if my visa got expired or not getting renewed for some reason.

My questions:

1) Even I can repay the amount every month? will there be an issue
2) Is there anyone who return back to their home country by leaving the home here for rental purpose?

Please can you share any experiences on this please? It would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Your home cannot be reposed simply for not having a visa. As long as you keep up your payments, there is nothing that allows the banks to simply repossess your house for not having a right to live here.

HOWEVER, they can repossess your house if you don't make your payments.

That's it.

Thanks for replying mulderpf.

So Can I rent the house in UK even if I am not a UK resident?

You can, many rich people who owns house here and don't live here but banks might not give you mortgage or ask you to put more deposit etc
