Urgent help required + verification of genuinity of a post

Hi all helpers...I have a doubt regarding maintenance of funds for dependent visa for Tier 1 General Migrant.

I came to UK in September 2006.
Got Tier 1 General Visa in February 2010.
Living and working UK all the time.

I got married recently and my wife is applying for dependent visa. My confusion is regarding maintenance funds for dependent visa application made outside UK for a Tier1 General migrant living in UK more than 12 months.

As I am on Tier 1 general more than 12 months...do I have to show funds
a) £800 + £533
b) £800 + £1600
c) £533
d) £1600

I am maintaining more than £1600 for 3 months presuming case a) will apply to me.

But the post http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=79358 says case c) is valid to me.


Note: My friend had recently applied for dependent visa for his wife with £1600 in funds. He is in UK on Tier1 just 7 months. He believed that he donot need to show funds for him and it worked in his case.

Can anyone clear this doubt for me. I hope this will clear things for many others. Please Please Please....reply immediately.

as you have been in UK for more than 12 months then you need to have 800+533 for each dependent.

Many thanks. That is what I was thinking. So my funds £1600 would be sufficient.

What do you think about the alleged email from UKBA about funds...in the link in my original post?

I am not a lawyer and I did not verify before the post but what I remember is that because your dependent is out of country so out of country funds will apply to her.

i don't agree. as she is the dependent and the OP is using VAF10 to apply, the OP is the sponsor so he has to show funds.

if he is in country for less than 12 months then he has to show 2800 + 1600 but he is in the UK for over a year then 800 + 533 applies to him.
