tier 1 extension salary duration + UK experience points

hi all,

I am due to apply for the tier 1 extension 1 through PEO.

1. My current visa expires in september 2011. I am applying through PEO next week. I intend to cover the period 1 april 2010 - 31 March 2011 for the 12/15 months salary duration. Now wouldn't it get pass the 15 months limit for me?
Please clarify how the 15 months duration works.

1 April 2010- 31 March 2011 = 12 months
1 april 2011 - 30 June 2011 = 3 months
= 15 months
Based on these would I just be fine if I show the salary duration(1 april 2010-31 March 2011) as I would be applying before 30 June 2011.

2. Also instead of 1 april , can I show the duration as 30 April 2010- 30 April 2011. The reason being that my april 2010 payslip is dated 30 april. But is for the tax period 1 april - 30 April as stated on the payslip? The salary duration is it based on tax periods or when salary actually is credited to my account?

3. Now if i do show the april- march salary duration. would it affect my UK experience points. For the experience is it the same criteria as the salary(12/15). Or one has to be the last 12 months in employment in UK?
Please clarify what is the criteria for the UK exp points?
Can I show different sets for the two criterias?

i.e. for salary (april- march)
for experience( June-June). I am still employed btw but have recently changed companies.

your post has helped in understanding the issue further. I guess my salary duration then do fall in the 15 months period(?), but am not sure about the pay date and tax period mentioned on my payslips.

I am due to apply in a week. So any seniors plz advise. I have got the appointment , now wouldn't want to cancel it.

I am not a senior, but I have a similar situation. I have an appointment at PEO on the 5th of July.

I'm going to show earnings gained from 06/04/2010 to 05/04/2011. I think this still falls into the 15 month period assessed by the Home Office.

I.e., 15 month back from July 5th 2011 would be April 5th 2010, so fingers crossed.

Yes we both in the same boat! So fingers crossed.
Are you claiming points for UK experience? I assume you have UK job.
I cannot find anywhere guidelines for this or maybe its too simple.

Yes, of course I do. If you earned at least £16,000 in the UK, you can claim for the experience.

ooops I just bumped into this:

UK Work Experience with earnings of over 16,000 GBP - 5 points
on the work permit.com site.

See Scoring points for UK experience instead as it's straight from the horse's mouth. Whilst in this case the information is the same, more often than not other websites have not kept up with the myriad of changes to immigration to the UK and rather check the most up to date and correct source at all time.

But yes, you do get the 5 points.
