Tier1 gen post 6th april 2010 - extn?

Post by fundoopg » Sat Jun 11, 2011 11:05 am

Can someone please confirm that Tier1 extn is valid for those who got Tier1 general after 6th April 2010. I have just read this on UKBA and it's confusing -

Leave to Remain (Extension) where previous
grant of leave was as a Tier 1 (General)
Migrant under the Rules in place before the 06
April 2010
For a period of 2 years
Leave to Remain in all other cases For a period of 3 years

It's not a matter of when one was granted the Tier 1 (General) visa but when the application was made/posted.

Clearly you fall under 'Leave to Remain in all other cases For a period of 3 years'.

Thanks for your response. As my current Visa is valid for 2 years only so if I get extension for 3 years, that would mean I will be eligible for ILR with one extension only, is it true?

Based on the current immigration rules, that would be true - you would only need one extension (as long as you meet the requirements at the time).
