Hi all,

Very excited to finally have sent off my EEA2 app w/ passports last Friday. It's been a long journey to get to this point!! Here is my current time-line going back to meeting my beautiful wife in 2008. Will update as soon as anything is heard back from the home office!

03/04/08- I meet a beautiful German girl in Central America while on holiday. We travel together 3 weeks and kiss on our last night together
05/06/08- We meet again and travel Europe together 5 weeks
06/08/08- I move to the UK to teach on two year work permit
27/11/08- She moves from Germany and joins me in the UK
03/08/10- After almost two years together, my UK work permit expires & I sadly have to leave her behind in the UK. I move back home to USA, she stays in the UK
16/11/10- We get engaged in Paris
28/01/11- Biometrics appointment. UK Visitor Marriage visa mailed via Priority Service
04/02/11- UK Visitor Marriage visa arrives. Fly to UK
15/02/11- After waiting mandatory 10 days, Intent to Marry appointment at registrar's office
26/03/11- Married!
13/04/11- I fly back to US
15/04/11- Biometrics appointment. EEA Family Permit mailed via Priority Service
21/04/11- EEA Family Permit arrives
08/05/11- I happily move back in London!
10/06/11- Sent EEA2 application with both of our passports
13/06/11- Royal mail confirmation of EEA2 received at Home Office
??/??/??- CoA
??/??/??- EEA2 RC received

Now begins the waiting game and being stuck in the UK for a little while!! Hope to have the RC in hand by September.

All the best everyone. Thoroughly enjoy reading your stories and keeping up with your time-lines.

Hi All.

I thought I would come and check here to see how long others have waited for their documents, because I'm a little worried....!!!

Application sent 05 May 2011
Received at HO on 07 May 2011

And that was the last...Its now 5 weeks later and no sign of a COA/letter from them !? Judging by the time almost everyone else had to wait I should have received something from them by now surely.

My biggest worry is that I sent all our passports and certificates etc. If they lose it/have lost it, it will be a BIG loss for us as it was difficult to get them, and cost us alot of money.
The most ridiculous thing to me is the fact that you cant contact anyone about EEA applications at the UKBA, according to their site?! So now what? Do I just phone and hope someone will know what happened to my app? Or are we all just sitting ducks.

Very frustrating. :?

from what i have read in this forum, a lot of people got their COA within 1 month. i think there will be a strike at some point and im not sure if the civil servant will get involved or not. If it is, then i presume our applications will be delayed.umm..

We sent in my husbands EEA2 application on 09/06/11, received by HO 10/06/11.

I'm just wondering if everyone will receive a COA? I think I read somewhere that HO don't always seem to be issuing these for EEA applications... Not that we are expecting to receive a COA for another few weeks or so. Seems like the waiting time for these are at least a month.

Hi johannf,

Did you receive a COA? Or did you end up getting in touch with the UKBA about it?

It seems the current wait is 3-5 weeks for CoA (usually just about 1 month exactly) and 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 months for RC.

One question though for those who included a pre-paid special return delivery envelope with their package (like me), how long did it take for everything to arrive at your home after the RC was issued? In some of these cases I've read about, it has taken up to a month to arrive after the RC was issued. But why such the long wait to arrive after being issued?? It shouldn't take more than 2-3 days (tops) to arrive once put in the mail, right? That unless they issue it (print RC) but it sits around a couple more weeks at the home office before being mailed? Strange.

Anyway, the best thing for those of us waiting to do is do our best to remain patient and keep our fingers crossed that everything goes without any hitches. We can consider ourselves lucky. A year or two back people had to wait up to a year to have their EEA2 RC processed! So surely, 4 months can't be that bad.. (I say this now one week in, ha ha)

Hi Berber,

It usually takes about 4/5 weeks for COA to come through - you dont have to contact them

They do have 6 mths to process RC but looks like it is a lot quicker - 3/4 mths!

Good luck

On average, CoA's take about 3-5 weeks to arrive. Lately most people have been receiving them about 30 days after their applications arrived at the home office. Be patient, all will be fine! :D

Hi guys got send my EEA2 APPLICATION as follows

Application sent: 17/05/2011
recieved by HO 18/05/2011
COA recieved 16/06/2011 dated 09/06/2011.

Its very short just one page stating i can work and also mentioned they will make decision as soon as they can and at any event within SIX months.

Is that normal? bcos my previously ones for FMRS are about three pages.
