Folks,

Couldn't resist the temptation, and rang INIS again just few minutes back.
Spoke to a nice lady for a change. She's taken my number and promised to check my application and ring me back this afternoon.

Wait continues :-)

Good luck fellas

I know, nanette... I'm going away, but I can't change it. I can only hope to get a decision before the 8th July. Can you please use your medium skills?

One acquaintance of mine keeps being told his application is in the final stage for over than 6 months already.
I feel for you and wish you and your husband get an approval soon.

naturalised person

Post by irishpassport » Thu Jun 16, 2011 2:54 pm

Just wondering someone can help me out here.
I got my naturalisation certificate yesterday, Now I need to apply for Irish passport.
I dont have a long form birth certificate from India.
when I applied for naturalisation in 2009 I used birth affidavit and they accepted.
Is a birth affidavit work for Irish Passport? at the same time I have a copy of my old affidavit.

Any guidance in this matter will be appreciated..

2. 2 colour passport sized photograph taken with in thirty days, reference number should be return on the back of the photos
3.original certificate of registration(GNIB)
4. Original travel document(if applicable) please do not submit your own national passport
that's it

That's great news. Many congratulations on your approval.

As far I know you should submit the long form birth certificate when applying for passport.

You need your birth certificate, I am afraid.

Why don't you get one. Actually you should have gotten one....Planning is essential you know...You wasted so much time...:)-

Well contact the passport office and explain.

By explaining I mean: tell them you used that affidavit for naturalisation.

Worth trying but it I think they'll need a birth certificate...
