refusal waiting times

Post by bobbyash » Wed Jun 22, 2011 8:41 am

I was just wondering for the people who get a refusal if the ukba does this quite quickly or if they drag it out for the whole 3 months.

thanks

If you get refused and have to appeal, then the appeal hearing can take up to 6 months before its heard and a decision is made. Add a further 6- 8 weeks before the visa is stamped in your passport, that is if you win the appeal.

However when ever an appeal is lodged, the EC Manager at the post has to review the decision in view of what arguments you have stated in your appeal. This can take 3 months and if you are lucky the refusal may be overturned and visa issued, therefore saving you time and money of going through a full appeal hearing.

Hi guys,
My husband got his visa from Cairo last May. We applied at Worldbridge in Zamalek on 17th March and he received it on 18th May, so exactly 2 mnths. He flew to me on 24th May. I have to say it was probably the most stessful time of our lives, but try your best not to worry. As long as you meet the financial criteria and you have supplied enough info as proof of your relationship, there should be no problem.

Thanks for that STLewis ... refreshing to hear that it was just 2 months... we are now into week 5...

Fingers and toes crossed xxxx

just one thing to remember.

they work the days out in working days only.

so 30 working days is equal to 6 weeks.

and 60 days sounds like two months but its actually 12 weeks.

I know its horrible but like one of the previous posters said, you just have to keep positive. that's what I'm telling myself anyway.

Hey all,
I'll jump on the band wagon ! My Fiancee in Beijing applied 23rd June.. She was here recently ( England ) for 6 months on a visit visa ( Bliss ). Waiting times are governed my many factors, your preferred travel date is the first thing looked at.. travel history ( recent ) / known to UKBA/ etc.

I read somewhere that if you have recent good travel history to your designated country, it can speed things up ( less mandatory checks ).

We all know, that whatever it takes, we will be with our loved one.
Never give up !
Good luck to us all.

See my other post...
Fiance visa processed in 23 working days !
She does have recent travel history to the UK no problems... that must have helped.
