Confused about HIGHER EDUCATION

Post by zohairismail » Mon Jun 27, 2011 10:45 pm

Hey guys

i heard UKBA is introducing new laws from 4 July 2011 onwards which restricts the students with work entitlements unless they are going to Higher Education Universities or something like that.

Could anyone interpret please what actually is this higher education thing and that if Brunel qualifies for that and will the students be able to work 20 hours as allowed?

And any other changes that may affect Brunel

Please REPLY ASAP as i have to file my TIER 4

Hello Everyone

Any idea about LSBF or Kaplan...? Will their students be able to work if they apply after 4th July....?

A bit confusing though cos they all seem to be recognized bodies and provide higher education... so does that mean they can be classified as Higher Education Institutions...?

Call up the institutions in question and ask them directly.

See Greenie's first response in the topic, and enquire from the institutions in question if they fulfil the criteria of being a "higher education institution".

I don't believe they are. A recognised body is one with their own UK degree awarding powers. See here for a list of recognised bodies-

http://www.bis.gov.uk/policies/higher-e ... sed-bodies

And here for further definitions-
