bank statements and payslips: 12 or 3 months?

Post by rgutis13 » Sat Jul 02, 2011 4:45 pm

While reading the success stories on the forum, I noticed that while requesting the bank statements and payslips the case workers usually ask:

Either for 12 months bank statements and payslips

Or for 3 months bank statements and payslips

I wonder why there's a such difference and to what it relates to, i.e. immigration category, number of bank statements and payslips indicated on page #42 on:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... o04091.pdf

or something else? Can you clarify please?

From reading the SET(O), I understand that 3 months bank statements and payslips are required for Workpermit holders.

Many thanks in advance.

For settlement applications under closed categories (e.g. - WP):
Checking the application form and letter from the employee wrote:The SET (O) application form has been amended to remove the requirement to provide three months pay slips, as this requirement was never included in the rules. However, you can ask the applicant for their most recent pay slip or their contract of employment to support the letter from their employer. You cannot refuse an application solely if they do not provide the pay slips.

Thank you very much Sushdmehta!

1) Does it mean that a new SET(O) has been issued? And this one is not valid anymore: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... o04091.pdf where:

on page #33, it states: "Payslips or a contract of employment and bank statements showing the payments paid to you for the 3 months immediately prior to the date of application."

AND

on page #32: "you must provide bank statements or other documents of the kind described above as evidence of their financial resources. The documents showing the finances available to you and to any person supporting you should cover at least the last 3 months."

2) Are there any guidelines about the bank statements, whether 3 or 12 months statements should be provided?

Many thanks for your help.

Read the statement in parts, as follows:

1. Payslips or a contract of employment,
and
2. bank statements showing the payments paid to you for the 3 months immediately prior to the date of application.

Point 2 above satisfies the requirement you quote from page 32.
