Family Visit Visa - Please Help

Hi,

I had applied for my parents visit visa from India and had requested the consulate if they can post date it from August 30th. I had put a cover letter and also added the dates of travel in the application form. But they still have given the visa from july 1st. When we called the consulate, they said this must have been an oversight and have asked me to mail them. But I am not sure if anything can be done now. Has anyone faced this problem before? and is there any appealing that can be done for this.

Any help on this is appreciated.
