Same here. March 2009 applicant and still no news.
I know a few people who'd applied in August and got their approvals earlier this week.

I think you need the judges seal. I'd suggest you to ring the district court again and explain that you are missing the judges seal. They should sort this out. DO NOT post the yellow form without Judges seal.

Hi Everyone,

Had been reading this thread for the past 2 years! Thought I would never get it!

Finally the wait is over!
Time line:

Applied: Aug 2008
Approved: July 2011

Was on jobseekers benefit for 6 months. Then got a job last year.
I sent them my payslips, tax clearance cert. when I returned to full time employment.

Anyone know how long I have to wait for the citizenship ceremony (in Dublin)?

Good Luck to you all!

Once you send the 950, 2 photos and GNIB card they'll send you the invite. Dates are not known yet.

Your Driving Licence should suffice. (Make sure you make a photocopy b4 sending it off, you never know when you'll get stopped by a Garda)

I received a letter from Citizenship section today. I was totally surprised to see this letter. They are now asking following documents from me:

1. The prescribed fee of 950 EU (Postal order/Bank draft)
2. Two colour passport sized photographs taken within the past thirty days. The xx/xxxx/11 reference number should be written on the back of the photos.
3. Original certificate of registration (green book/GNIB Card)
4. Original Travel document , not National passport. (not applicable for me anyway).

They also mentioned that they will send me a invitation to attend citizenship ceremony within 6 six weeks of receipt of the above documents.

Here is the application details
----------------------------------
Applied: March 2011
Acknowledgement : March 2011
LTR Applied: March 2011
LTR Approved: June 2011
LTR Submitted to Citizenship section: June 2011
Approved: 07th July 2011

Non-EU/ 5 years work permit visa/
No document requested / Parking fines two times.

I would like to thanks everybody here for your valuable inputs. And good luck for all other applicants.

For Real?! Wow!  That's approval in 4 months. Congratulations mate. Has to be a new record. Goes to proof our theory about the 2 parallel system of the old and the new. Hopefully, the backlog will continue to clear as well.

U know what wil happen now?

Now after u pay 950 letters from INIS with ceremony invitation wil start to delay, like 6 weeks now, 10 weeks later, 14 weeks later on...
Or dates for ceremony will start to look too far away, like u pay 950 and the ceremony will be put off til 1 year later.

The main thing for them - u paid 950 euro, your money is theirs.

hi IRISH PHAROE,
As 9j says u can submitt ur Driving Licence but if u want to apply for Irish Passport, dont u have to submitt ur original passport coz u can hold only one passport not two different country passports at same time or ur country allow u to do like this but i dont think Ireland does
coz if i will apply Irish Passport my original passport will be submitted for ever with Irish Passport office and i have to go to Indian Embassey to apply new OCI card or PIO card for life or jst take visa when ever i want to visit my home country.
sorry if i m wrong or its different policy for ur country.
may b double check
thanx

Hi still waitting,
for my country there is no problem to have another passport just you need to inform the interior ministry (of my home country) that you got another passport and you need to keep your original one.

Oh guys,
did ever feel the same like me right now, having 2 nationalities, loving both countries,
I think it is new feelings and it deserves the waitting.

just yesterday I was listening to both anthem, what a feeling!!
peace on you

Hi still waiting,

Not every country requires you to give up your original citizenship in order take up a new one. Some countries accepts dual/multiple citizenship. Ireland does not require you to give up your original citizenship in order to become an Irish citizen. People who do, do that because their country of origin requires them to.
