Changing LTR from student to Workpermit

Post by Raptor » Tue Aug 08, 2006 3:46 pm

Hi all,

I'm presently in london as a student. Recently, I applied and got my workpermit to work as a teacher. I have 2 questions;

1. On the LTR(IED) form, it is said that one needs to show the original certificate. But I haven't received the original certificate yet, although I received the letter from the university stating that I have passed the course. I intend to apply in person for the LTR. Would this letter suffice?

2. I got my LTR(student) on another course, although i ended up doing the teaching postgrad from another uni. Are visas institution specific? and would this be an issue with the immigration officer in Croydon?

Thank you very much

Hi all,

My apologies if I'm coming across as being too persistent, but can anyone please make some observations on the questions I've posted.

I'm new to the forum, so excuse me for my persistence and apologies once again.

Thanks

Looks ok. It's clearly mentioned in the documents of SEGS and Fresh Talent Scotland categories. So it's probably applicable to WP as well.

This is rather gray. You might want to provide documents from the original uni to support your leaving of the course.

If you take another course in the same uni it wouldn't be a problem though.

Thank you very much Coyote for your thoughts.

I was under the impression that UK visas are NOT institution specific. And as I already had applied for my Leave to Remain (the passport was at the Home Office) , I thought it was not necessary to inform the Home Office. Does anyone else feel this could be a sticky point for me when I apply for my LTR in person(through the workpermit).

Could others make any suggestions please.

Thank you very much

Hi everyone

I'm very disappointed by the lack of responses from senior members of this forum. It is true that these issues are only important to me, as it affects only me directly, and not to the other members of the forum. Hence, the reason why I posted my query on the forum.

I've been following this forum, and the assistance that many members, especially the senior members such as Kayalami, Chess, John, have given throughout to people who've needed assistance.

I aplogise for expecting too much, but nevertheless, thank you. Many thanks for your thoughts Coyote
