ILR 10 years long residence urgent help please

Dear Members

I came UK in 12 August 2001 & spent 7 years 11 Months 12 days on student visa and exactly 2 years on Tier 1 (Post-Study Work) category which would expire on 10 August 2011, would I still be eligible for Indefinite leave to remain for 10 years long residence?

As my total count of legal stay in UK is 9 years and 11 months and 10 days but I have read on UKBA website that the applicant could apply before 28 days does this rule still apply if i am still short of approx 20 days.

Shall I switch to another category for 20 more days let say, eg Tier 2 etc.

Please help me out as i am getting near to my deadline

Thanks vinny for your prompt reply.

it seems 2.2.7 rule is in my favour and i can apply within 28 days limit.


but one more thing I would like to ask is, I enter UK 12 August 2001 but my visa was granted on 1st August 2001 from UK embassy in UAE, am I correct to assume that my legal stay started from 1st August or shall I consider it from entry point which is 12 August 2001 please clearway my doubts.
