Multiple entrances to UK with EEA Family Permit

We are finally moving to England this month. My husband might need to do a trip to his native country (Venezuela), due to his mom's health.
His EEA family permit expires not until December. Will he be able to leave the UK and get back in by himself on the same permit, or is the permit good for only one entrance?

It's valid for multiple entries, provided that he's travelling with you or joining you in the UK.
