My passport will come up for renewal just 1 month prior to my tier 1 validity date.
I was originally thinking I will apply for a new passport in the embassy here and then submit both my old passport (with the Tier 1 visa vignette) and the new passport for the Tier 1 extension until I read this in the policy guideline, see ii)
Now, I am wondering if I will be forced to submit for an early extension, which means I will have to submit at least 2 months in prior when my passport is still valid for another month and I still have 2 months left on my Tier 1 ?Documents Required – All Applications
54. Paragraph 245A of the Immigration
Rules states that we will only award points
when an applicant provides the specifi ed
evidence that he/she meets the requirements
for this category. The specifi ed documents
are as follows:
i) Biometric Residence Permit, which
contains the date of approval of the last grant
of leave and the age of the applicant; or
ii) Current valid original passport/travel
document containing the last visa granted to
the applicant.
Is my understanding correct or is there another way around to this ?
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
