Hi All,
I have been following the threads in this forum. Appreciate the diligence of the members in keeping one another informed and the suggestions and advice.
My husband and I were granted the ILR in April 2011, applied for my son (2.5 years of age born in the UK currently in India) at VFS Cochin on 20/04/2011. Today is the 54th day and waiting.
(a) Anybody here having an experience of the wait having gone beyond 60 working days, if yes any advice please?
(b) Contact number for the BHC Chennai?

hi champ most of applications are dealt at all uk posts in India around 57 to 60 day mark apart from mumbai south for some reason it is lagging behind, i would also like to add in childs case it is virtually impossible for not granting visa as its unhumantarian as long applicant is trully genuine so i hope this will help u please keep us posted and thanks for your comments about people on this thread most of us has been great bunch of genuine people it will be others job to keep this torch alive for future

yes kj29 I do agree there is no genuine reason as to why he shouldnt be granted the visa. The wait for that much anticipated status change or SMS is the painful part, which I understand is what we have all experienced. Is there anybody in this forum at all who have had to wait more than 60 working days if yes it would be really helpful to know how to progress in such a stiuation?

What I would do is send an email after 52days and you can find chennai bhc email address at vfs website or British High Commission in India website right a genuine email and ask them politely if they know how many days more it might take and why the time they write back to you it will be around 60 days mark I believe in their standards charter they deal with applications in 60 days and if their is more evidence require they will write to applicant and that application can take 90 days so u will have update within 60 working days I will assume u have included 3 extra holidays bhc had so people who applied in April are waiting 3 days more its just waiting till 60 days and I am sure u will have some sort of development hope this has helped you and u can work with this timeline in ur head

Hi all,
My son's visa is finally through, the status changed on the 59th working day to (a) Processed application in transit and finally to (b) Processed application sent to blue Dart and we recieved the passport this afternoon. Its such a relief, the 3 months have been almost un-bearable! Thank God. The honest opinions and experiences that members post in here have been genuinely helpful for me, so happy to answer any questions anybody may have.

Hi guys i m new to this forum. Been reading a lot of experiences of people and its quiet heart felt, the process is simply too long for married couple. Well i applied on the same day as you thunder but from the vfs in ahmedabad. Not sure where my application has gone, its either mumbai north or south. I applied on the 28/04/11. Well let hope ours come at the same time.. all the best buddy..
