UK HSMP Application Queries

Post by styleman » Wed Aug 09, 2006 9:43 am

I am planning to apply for UK HSMP. I am living in India. I am going to request the follwoing points,

5 points for being under 28
- Date of birth: 12th June 1980
15 points for my qualification
- Bachelor Of Computer Engineering
35 points for work experience
- Web developer: June 2001 to March 2005 (3 Years and 10 Months)
- Senior Software Engineer: July 2005 to till date (1 Year and 2 Month)
10 points for spouse's or partner's achievements
- Bachelor Of Commerce

65 total points

Query 1: I am sure i will get the 65 points, but which is minimum point requirement. Is 65 makes any problem or delay in processing?

Query 2: I am going to request the spouse's point. I am married but 3 month short in 2 years living together. Is 2 years living together condition applied to married couple?

Looking for reply from all of you.

Thanks and Regards,
Nitin Patel

Hi styleman,

If you have 65 point it is OK. There is no difference you have 65 or 95. It will not affect on processing time. The minimum score is 65.
But at first request from NARIC letter to be sure that your degree is equal
to UK degree.
Also may be you will have some problems with partner's achievements.
I can not be confident but in guid said at least 2 year. So you should decide try or wait for 3 - 4 month.

anyway Good luck.

I can advice you to supply as much as possible documents including photos ,holiday reservations, phone bills , bank accounts even mails to prove your relations. It doesnt matter to be married as long as you spent 2 years together with your spouse.

Work experience

Post by hsmp2006 » Sat Aug 19, 2006 7:19 pm

How important is it to have description in the experience letter. I have over 6 years of full-time experience. Though I would have been eligible for Senior/Specialist points, I didn't want to complicate things and just opted for "4-years full-time" experience.

My experience letters contain start/end of employment and designation/title. Do you foresee any problems? Also, experience letter from my current employer just states start date and current designation. Would that be enough.

Thanks in Advance,
HSMP2006.

can someone please reply. My application will reach caseworker in another 2 weeks. If its absolutely essential to have work description, then I need to check if documents can be faxed.

Thanks,

yes, its very important to have detailed description of roles and responsibilities in your experience letter for each position held till date without which you will not be awarded points in that section.

If the additional documents are experience letters, then my take is that you may have to send them by post and not fax as they would like to see original copies of the experience letters. You will have to quote your reference number and a cover letter requesting the case-worker to consider these new experience letters in place of the ones already attached to your application. You can call up on (+441142074074/+441142076020) for the exact mailing address as this will be different from the address where we send our initial application.

Since, recipt of your additional documents are detrimental to the final outcome of your application, you can tell the HSMP team (+441142076020) to differ processing your application until receipt of further additional documents. Better late than outright rejection!

Called up HSMP customer service no. Looks like I can fax this document for a quick reference but need to send original experience letter with job description to make final decision.

Fax (this number is not mentioned in any of the guidelines document) - +441142076021.

Address to be sent:
Work Permits (UK) HSMP
PO 3468
Sheffield
S3 8WA
